Learn hands-on CPR on June 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. Hands-only CPR is a new and simplified technique and has shown to be as effective as conventional CPR. The session will be taught by a certified instructor from the American Red Cross.The hands-only technique increases the likelihood of survival of a cardiac issue. Registration is required.
The Mini Magic Miniature Club will present a Make It and Take It program on June 3 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. Participants will create a small bench, wreath, potted flowers, and a bird house in doll house scale. Registration is required.
Participants of all ages are encouraged to be a reading hero by joining the superhero themed SummerRead 2015 program at the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library from June 1-July 25.
“Every Hero Has a Story” will kick-off at 9:30 a.m. on June 1 and will feature super hero related activities for children. Each child who registers for SummerREAD will receive a complimentary book. A professional face painter will be in the library from 10:00 a.m. to noon and from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
In partnership with the Literacy Coalition of Hancock County, children through the ages 0 through 5 years old can be registered at the kick-off to join the Dolly Parton Imagination Library at no cost. The Literacy Coalition will provide activities, information and registration in the lower level of the library. The Imagination Library was created to foster a love of reading among preschool children and their families by providing them with the gift of a specially selected book each month.
